Cradle of the Colony exhibition

In 2015 the Swan Guildford Historical Society opened an exhibition “Cradle of the Colony – A story of Guildford and the Swan Valley” which is available for viewing at the Courthouse  building, Meadow Street, Guildford.

The exhibition tells the story of the history of Guildford and the Swan Valley from the early days of the Swan River Colony right through to the present day.  The Curator of the Swan Guildford Historical Society spoke at the launch of the exhibition, saying “We believe that this exhibition will provide a real insight into the history of the area for locals and visitors alike.  It is great to be able to display some of the Society’s most treasured items and let the public view important Aboriginal artefacts, rare costumes and images that really show what life was like for the early settlers.”
