New exhibition launched on Thursday 23rd April 2015

The Swan Guildford Historical Society are delighted to announce the opening of a new exhibition “Cradle of the Colony – A story of Guildford and the Swan Valley” which can be viewed at the Courthouse, Meadow Street, Guildford.

The exhibition tells the story of the history of Guildford and the Swan Valley from the early days of the Swan River Colony right through to the present day.  Paul Bridges, Curator for the Swan Guildford Historical Society says “We believe that this exhibition will provide a real insight into the history of the area for locals and visitors alike.  It is great to be able to display some of the Society’s most treasured items and let the public view important Aboriginal artefacts, rare costumes and images that really show what life was like for the early settlers.”

Admission is free during the opening hours of the Swan Valley Visitor Centre in the Courthouse.

9am to 4pm daily.

The exhibition is a partnership between Swan Guildford Historical Society, Lotterywest and the City of Swan.
